Department

Promotes a proactive Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) culture for a global oil & gas equipment manufacturer and service provider by assisting with the implementation of core HS&E programs, policies and initiatives in project execution. Provides solid, independent contribution with all aspects of the HS&E program and completes work independently on assignments involving varied and complex issues without direct day-to-day supervision in allocated client portfolios. Expectedto solve complex issues and make modifications as needed in order to complete functional and/or project goals within budgetary and scope constraints. This position will be expected to complete individual tasks but will have project teamresponsibilities while positively influencing other employees within the organization.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
• Provides dedicated HSE support to internal project teams in both the USA and Africa.
• Implementing regulatory, corporate or client HSE• Is an active HSE and project team member ensuring adherence to OSHA compliance, and FMC Technologies principles, policies, and standards to improve HSE processes in a reliable and cost-effective manner.

• Provides safety coaching with respect to Project HSE Management,Management Systems, JSAs, at-risk activities, unsafe conditions, safety improvement opportunities and etc.
• Conducts reviews of health, safety and environmental requirements and prepares departmental summaries for all tenders andthroughout project execution.
• Completes all Project HSE Documentation and Programs thought Project execution.
• Conducts quarterly contractor safety forums to promote FMC Technologies HSE expectations and learning opportunities.
• Participating as company representative at customer-sponsored HS&E forums and meetings.
• Represents FMC Technologies in customer-sponsored safety forums, meetings and training.
• Participate and/or leads in project-relatedHAZID/HAZOP studies, equipment testing (SIT, FAT, etc.) operations, and monitor load-out and product delivery activities.
• Supporting close-out of actions from safety risk assessments, risk registers and audits etc.
• Advises theProject Manager on Project HSE Risks and mitigation plans.
• Provides notifications for incidents related to applicable projects.
• Participates in incident investigations and contributes to formal Root Cause Analysis teams assembledfor significant incidents.
• Participating in corporate special emphasis programs and compliance HSE Management System Audits at domestic and international locations.
• Coaching with respect to JSAs, at-risk activities, unsafeconditions and safety improvement opportunities.
• Provides support in compiling HS&E data and evaluating statistics for project teams.
• Interfaces with senior level management and assists in HS&E supplier and contractor audits.

Main Tasks

MAIN TASKS:
• Ensure in-country regulatory compliance - compliance with Federal, State, Local and Corporate requirements relating to training, recordkeeping, permits, reports, policy and procedures and other related compliance issues.

• Providing HSE review with detailed HSE input.
• Trains, monitors and coaches team members to improveskill level to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards of HSE processes in a reliable and cost-effective manner.
• Participates in problem resolution, customer notification and appropriate feedback (positive and corrective) within the teams and sites.
• Conducts reviews of health, safety and environmental requirements and prepares departmental summaries for customer quote and bid packages.
• Provides support in compiling data and evaluating statistics forinternal customer project teams, management, federal and state agencies.
• Provides support for corporate HS&E compliance cycle audits to ensure problem resolution and overall HS&E compliance.
• Ensure that all HSE requirements areaddressed and implemented in project execution.
• Provide support mentoring local, in-country HS&E representatives.
• Integrate corporate HS&E requirements with customer requirements.
• Mitigate corporate exposure to regulatory finesand liabilities.
• Participates in planning and scheduling projects.
• Consults with other departments on equipment designs, HSE issues and questions. Identifies root cause of problems. Develops or supports the development ofalternative solutions and communicates associated benefits and risks to the organization.
• Prepares documentation, information and communications as required.

Requirements

Education & Experience:
Undergraduate degree in management or engineering-related field or similar discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Prefer professional certification in BCSP and/or CIH and an equivalent combination ofcorporate domestic and international locations.
• May require occasional shift work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Works in office environment approximately 60% of the time using standard office equipment.
• Spends time in shopmanufacturing environment and offsite contractor fabricator locations 40% of the time which involves moderate exposure to noise levels and shop machinery.
• Moderate local travel to local contractor and/or customer locations to representproject HSE issues.
• Infrequent travel to corporate domestic and international locations.
• May require occasional shift work.
